About This School
It is super important for prospective students to know that they are reviewed for the major that they list on their application. You might see that the university has an 80% acceptance rate overall, but the acceptance rate by major varies drastically from that! Engineering and business have an acceptance rate of 40% while the aerospace engineering admit rate is closer to 20%. When they are evaluating students for business majors, the main things they are looking at are math classes taken in addition to the grades in those classes as well as activities, specifically leadership roles and having jobs. Engineering students are evaluated looking at the same criteria but with the addition of the science courses taken and grades earned in those classes. If students have below a 3.5 or possibly even a 3.7 weighted GPA, they will not be competitive applicants for engineering or business. If students are truly undecided, it is fine to say so, but they should absolutely not be trying to use the undecided major as a loophole to get into more competitive majors.
