Tufts is a medium sized research university with a culture of a liberal arts college and a focus on student relationships, research, and civic engagement. There are 5800 undergraduates who pursue majors in one of three schools: the school of arts and sciences, the school of engineering, or the school of the museum of fine arts. Students can also double major or pursue a combined degree, which is a five year program. Their interdisciplinary curriculum encourages students to pursue a wide variety of interests and allows for diversity of thought in the classroom.
