Colorado State University is located in downtown Fort Collins and is home to about 27,500 undergrads. The overall admit rate is about 88% (up from about 80% before they went test optional in 2021). Before the pandemic, they wanted to go test optional, but they needed to wait for permission from the state. Our admissions representative said they’re “test optional by law, but test free by practice.” Scores are accepted but will never hurt applicants; they are removed from admissions, competitive majors, and scholarship review. They are looking for reasons to admit students not to deny them.
