College of Charleston

Their slogan is “extraordinary happens here.” C of C is an urban campus surrounded by historic homes right in the middle of Charleston. They have a very close knit community of about 11,000 students. Innovation and change characterize the city of Charleston.

Students take Cougar Core courses which help them integrate knowledge from a variety of academic disciplines, broaden academic horizons, and encourage students to think innovatively. Charleston believes in experiential learning. Hands-on experiences help students connect theories of knowledge with real world situations. They do research in all subject areas, 70% of their students complete at least one internship, 45% of students study abroad, and many students are involved in service learning opportunities.
