Rollins College
GPA: 3.3

While there are general education requirements so students explore disciplines outside their major, Rollins offers a lot of flexibility and creativity in those course options. For example, there is a class called science of chocolate, science of superheroes, and there is a class analyzing Mr. Rogers. He is an alum of Rollins of which they are very proud; the new Fred Rogers statue was just unveiled. Rollins classes are discussion based, often around a big table, and the assessments are more typically papers than multiple choice tests. Rollins also places a strong emphasis on study abroad options with 77% of their students taking advantage of this free option (all they pay for is airfare). Another value of theirs is community service. 40% of students are involved in Greek life which they are able to join starting second semester of their first year.
Rollins has 21 division two sports teams, but there is no football team. However, there is a lot of school spirit, and students love going out to support their team. 97% of their graduates are working, in grad school, or volunteering twelve months after graduation. Rollins is in the top ten when it comes to best values according to U.S. News and World Report, and 96% of their students receive very generous aid with the average merit scholarship being between $15,000 and $32,000 per year.
Rollins is test optional and does a holistic review of candidates. They really enjoy reading the essays and letters of recommendation. The average unweighted GPA of core classes for the incoming class is 3.5 with midrange SAT scores of 1220-1350 and ACT of 25-30 for those who chose to submit them. The Rollins motto is Find Your Anchor. Go, Tars!
