Eckerd College

Eckerd is a private, liberal arts school. What really surprised me is that 80% of students are from out of state with the average distance from their home to school being over 1000 miles! Last year, they had 630 new students, and they came from 612 schools! If students are looking for a place where they can start fresh rather than having a high school 2.0 experience, everyone is starting fresh at Eckerd. About 90% of their 2000 students live on campus all four years which fosters a strong community feeling.

Eckerd College is test optional, but their average scores from the recent class were 1200 and 26 for those who chose to submit them. Their motto is “Think OUTside.” That really encapsulates Eckerd - lots of thinking and lots of outside opportunities on a beautiful, waterfront campus. Go, Tritons!
